Double Bow Windsor Chair
A Contemporary Classic
This Double Bow Windsor Chair is a perfect example of how traditional design can be brought into your home. Although this Windsor’s heritage lies in the eighteenth century, the clean lines and subtle shaping of this chair give it a modern look. This versatile armchair sits as comfortably at the head of your dining table as by the fireside.
It’s a contemporary classic and my most popular chair.
Good Honest Joinery
Making these chairs is where the old-fashioned approach really matters. There are no hidden fixtures and no modern adhesives. Simply good honest joinery, proven to stand the test of time. I’ve sat in Windsor chairs made when Napoleon was a nipper, put together using the very same tools and techniques that I use today.
Unlike factory made furniture, every part of this chair is shaped by hand. All these things take time, but it adds up to a supremely comfortable wooden chair. Good luck getting rid of your guests once they’ve settled in to one of these.
Genuine Sustainability
My business is Grown in Britain certified. This means genuine sustainability. A chain of custody is established from woodland to workshop, giving you the reassurance that my furniture comes from carefully managed sources in the UK. As someone who grew up in the New Forest, I’m taking part in this scheme as an investment in the forests of the future.
A Perfect Finish
The generous proportions of the Double Bow Windsor Chair provide a showcase for the finest British Ash. I use Osmo Hardwax Oil to accentuate the beauty of the wood. Two coats of this low sheen, natural finish also provides protection against your busy home life. This method of finishing has stood up to everything our nine year old daughter and her enthusiastic Labrador have thrown at it so far.
